About the Event

DevNQ returns to in-person meetups in 2021! We welcome all of the DevNQ community, your friends, and colleagues back for 2021. To kick it off, we're introducing the programme for 2021, and getting to know eachother with a 'Postcards from Developers' story sharing session. Come along for free pizza, drinks and some great stories from our community. WHAT IS POSTCARDS FROM DEVELOPERS? Scattered around the event will be postcards with questions and speaking prompts. The audience is invited to speak to a personal experience based on the speaking prompts. Postcards from developers events are always filled with heaps of amusing anecdotes, stories of terrifying technical issues and funny faults. Come along and share your hilarious or horrifying stories with DevNQ or just kick back, listen to others and enjoy a healthy dose of schadenfreude. Enjoy exciting responses to questions like: - Have you ever been in Zoom purgatory? How did you get there? - What’s the most obscure problem you’ve ever solved using IT? - What's the oldest or most retro environment you've worked in? - How long did your longest '5-minute fix' take and why did it take so long? We want to hear your favourite developer "postcard moments" from school, university, work, home or wherever. ----- Co-hosted with Women in IT@JCU Event sponsored by Smart Precinct NQ Free Pizza, Drinks and Snacks plus updates on DevNQ, Smart Precinct and everything going on this year in our community! COVID safety measures in place. Please RSVP for the event, sign in at the venue, ensure you socially distance, and follow all safety and hygiene directions at the venue.
